Fullness in left Breast and swollen lymphnodes worried!

Hello Everyone,

in February of. this year I had an ultrasound of my left breast and armpit done. the reason for this was due to swelling, lumps in armpit, and what feels like thicker breast tissue. at the time my doctor said the results came back with no malignancy.

fast forward to today. the pain radiates to meet shoulder and I returned to the doctor, but a different one. they read my Ultrasound results and found it did state no malignancy but noted multiple abnormal lymphnodes. I am scheduled to see a surgeon on Tuesday.

does anyone know what this might be? The order said abnormal lymph nodes but did not specify what was abnormal about them.. how could they not be specific!

any thoughts are appreciated.

Be sure to ask the surgeon just what was abnormal or perhaps the plan is for the surgeon to take out a few lymph nodes for testing to determine the abnormally? Good luck. My surgeon did a good job on the stitches (kind of a smile) when I had a few lymph nodes removed.

thank you for the reply. I feel like the ultrasound could have at least revealed what appeared abnormal.. hopefully ultrasounds are good at identifying masses and breast cancer is not a concern.

I am using this forum to track my progress. my doctor ordered blood work, CBC and Metabolic Panel. also due o pain in right leg she ordered a D-dimmer.

    results:

CBC - normal, fell in the middle of pretty much every thing. platelets are on the low side of the range, but they always have been.

    Metabolic- everything came back normal.

pending: appointment with surgeon on tuesday to evaluate and determine next steps. I anticipate a biopsy give nodes are noted as abnormal, there are multiple, and have been there over a year.

I will update again on Tuesday.

late update. Surgeon sent me first an ultrasound. while reviewing previous ultrasound they noticed the test itself said the nodes were normal, but a typo resulted in abnormal result. The more recent ultrasound revealed the same result. I have multiple swollen lymph nodes, largest is 3cm, but all appear normal in structure and blood flow.

I am still in a lot of pain in the armpit/ shoulder area so I am not sure what's next
