Hello everyone,
I have been suffering with these episodes for around 8 months and doctors are not helping!! I keep having these really weird episodes which are so difficult to describe it feels like my head is going to pop off!! The only way to describe it is like a wave of fuzzyness going through my brain, like i have pins and needles in my head and a thousand hands and squeezing it. I can get numbness in my legs and arms with these episodes and find it very difficult to concentrate or speak. The episodes only last around 30 seconds to a minute but they are really extreme and just really odd. im also noticing i have alot of flashes of lights in my eyes and blurred vision. The episodes are triggered by bright or flashing lights, movements, certain sounds or repetitive sounds. My bloods have been tested and they are all fine, i just want to get to the bottom of this because its awful, I Hope someone can help 😃

It sounds like you should see a neurologist and maybe get an mri scan of your brain and possibly spine. Does anyone have any neurological conditions in your family like epilepsy?

No there isnt anything in my family, I need a referral to be able to get an MRI scan and sadly my doctors arent really willing to give me one, they are just sending me away with pain killers which dont help at all. Im looking to go private and see a specialist but im just not sure who i need to see and what for as I dont have a clue what my symptoms could be, which is why ive came here, thanks for your reply!!

Well I think it sounds like a type of epilepsy, but it could be something else like MS maybe, I don't know. If you are going to go private, see a neurologist because it sounds like it is nerve related. Google your local private hospitals and find out the name of the neurologists there. Then look at each of their profiles independently and see which one looks the best. You could also ask your GP for a recommendation. If you do get an MRI or any scan done, ask for a copy of the results so you can get a second opinion if you need to.
I have been misdiagnosed before and I will always get a second opinion whether it is good or bad news.
