Hi Nicolette, I had a double subtalar Fusion & an arch reconstruction six months ago. I had a very flexible foot & I still have a very flexible foot. Unfortunately I don’t notice any improvement from before my surgery. It’s a very tough surgery to heal from in the subtalar joint. I did heal but still can’t walk. The reason I can’t walk is because I’m still severely over pronated f it’s puttinf severe pain in my ankles & my knees. I’m no better off other than my ankle arthritis gone. If you don’t have flat foot problems, I think you will be fine. I had other stuff going on that I had hoped the fusion & the rebuilding of the arch which had collapsed would correct but unfortunately it didn’t.

O my that sounds horrible, I can't deal with my Ankle joint fusion I prob won't handle that. I don't have no arthritis in that joint it just hasn't been the same since my ankle got fused and to be honest I'm worse off now before my surgery so I wouldn't recommend it to anybody

Hi, I has tibia/talar fusion 10 years ago. You can't bend your ankle after a fusion. Get good shoes with rocker soles. all was good. got arthritis in sub/talar after 8 years, and had fusion in April. This time recovery a lot slower. If you have no pain. or arthritis in that joint, I would not get it done. A lot depends on your age, weight fitness etc.

    Good luck.

Thank you , I don't have any arthritis in my subtalar joint nothing is wrong with it expect it's locked up, I've been in therapy for 3 months to unlock the joint with no success ,but I'm in a lot of pain my hind heal is also tilted/ crooked also, that's making it very hard to walk.
