Hi Stuart. Welcome to the blog. Well it is not a death sentence. It could be much worse. You will learn to cope with the condition. Modifying your expectations and activities is crucial. Know your body Stuart and your limitations, and respect them. If you go beyond on better days, you may pay for it afterwards. It is a learning process. Many times sufferers have experienced trauma or long term stress. It takes its toll on the body as a whole, especially the nervous system. So treat yourself as you would a beloved friend. It took sometime to get to this point and it will take sometime to recover to a manageable degree. Be patient with yourself Stuart. And please don't let anyone make you feel inadequate. This is like any other chronic condition. Respect your limitations and others will learn to respect you. You don't need to give long explanations neither. State it as a matter of fact. It is what it is. Never despair. Everyone is dealing with something. You are not alone. It is a learning process. Chin up Stuboy! Tomorrow is a brand new day. Even if they don't find a cure, you can learn many ways to adapt to your situation. Maggie
