FYI. Not all Amlodipine is the same

Once a medication becomes a generic any factory (most of them in India & China) can make it. The FDA allows some variance in the formula & the amount in the bloodstream. My mom tried Amlodipine from one manufacturer that made her listless and put her into a deep disturbing sleep. Her high blood pressure specialist suggested we try Amlodipine from a different drugstore and a different manufacturer so we did and she was able to tolerate the drug without any problems. I hope this information is helpful to someone out there. Sometimes simply switching manufacturers will solve problems with side effects as well as how the medication works in your body. The problem is all the pharmacies are constantly chasing the cheapest manufacturer. Therefore, this whole business with generic medications is pretty scary. Pray for a wise doctor, do your own research & pursue some wholistic options to really heal your body. Our western medical system and big pharma leave much, much to be desired.

Yes I agree I take Amlodopine and Perindoprol and have been taking it for 3 yrs with no problem. My husband takes a statin and once they gave him it in different packaging and different manufacturers. As soon as he started it he had side affects that he had never experienced before. He insisted on the original one and the side affects stopped immediately. When I collect my prescription I always make sure it’s the same every time. Apparently they tried to fob my husband off with a much cheaper statin!! So yes always chat with your Dr and work out what’s best for you .
