have had GA on right forearm last 3 years spreading outwards. Also now have it on other parts of arms legs and abdomen. Dr.dermatologist. Said  it usually clears up but it has not. It's really annoying and looks terrible. Don't know what to do. Dr gave me different prescriptions , creams . Did nothing at all. Is there anything that works?

I hear it can go away, I was told the same thing and I seem to have exactly what you have.  The creams only burn your skin and cause seemingly permanent damage at least to me.  I would lay off that stuff.

I'm at work now so I don't have access to what has done something for me.  I got some stuff from India from Hamdard that seems to do something.  It changes the appearance to the point where it is not all those circles with ridges.  It has one line on my wrist.  It sure beats having about 20 circles all over the place. I have tried so many other things and doctors don't have a clue what to do.  This has been the only thing that has helped.

If your interested reply back to me.

Pat90271, I am interested in what you are using. Is it a cream or taken internally? Also, is your GA localized or generalized? I've found nothing that works. My GA is generalized (all over my body). Thanks.

I'm not a doctor, but my research and self-experimentation has me convinced that GA has to do with inflammation.  Inflammation can be caused by many things, but for me the main sources are gluten, a few other foods, and stress.

Have you tried any dietary changes?  Are you under a lot of stress?  Have you tried any other lifestyle type changes (as opposed to medicines/creams)?

My GA pretty much came out of nowhere.  I got a biopsy done right away to confirm it (3 days after I noticed it).  I realized I had been really slipping up with my diet and eating a lot of foods I know don't work well for me.  I immediately went back to being gluten free and my GA was gone within a couple weeks of that.  It hasn't come back so far, but it has not been long.

FWIW, when it first showed up it was on one elbow.  Then the next day it was on both elbows.  A day after that spots were developing on both hands.  A few days after that there were small spots on the tops of both feet.  Obviously, it was spreading pretty aggressively.  All of that is gone now.
