Posted , 4 users are following.

I have taken Gabapentin for 6 weeks for nerve pain in my leg. Last week I

completely lost sight in one of my eyes for at least 7 hours . It being the 4th

of July weekend Drs were off . My sight returned completely but 2 days later

my Optometrist checked my eye throughly and found no problem ! Has anyone had any eye problems taking this medication? I am scared to say

the least !

I used to take gaba. for 4 years straight but I never had a symptom like that. In all the literature of side effects, that is not listed. I think was probably un-related to gaba.

I experienced blackouts and blurry vision. I was on Prozac for 30 years. Off of it 3 months now. Everything has just about returned to normal.

Hi Carolyn.Started on Gabapetin about 5 months ago starting at 200mg going up to 600mg along with being put on Mirtazapine and Tramadol during the same period and being weaned off of Paxil (20mg twice a day) for IBS and back related pain and anxiety/depression.Never had any eye problems.Did feel fogginess at first(not anymore),anxiety being upped often and colon spasms but that could be a combination of meds my coditions.Unfortunately it's hard to say as each person is different.Hope they can find out for sure what caused it.Prayers and God Bless You,Bob
