i have been taking these fir a few weeks and it is giving mebad anxiety i feel funny and been peeing alot since starting istopped it for a day and ended up in the er with diaherra and a high ass heart rate as anyone taking this experiences peeing alot or anxiety tremors dizziness from this med???

    That is very typical of Gabapentin.  Lots of anxiety and dizziness !  Try to get off of this medication!  Very many  adverse side effects.

    Hi Regina yes I suffer anxiety and tremors with panic attacks as well just no peeing but diaherra yes I have been off med for 8 weeks and still suffering part of me thinks it's damaged me for good when it comes to anxiety x

    Hi regina 

          This is common from gabapentin .... ive been on gabapentin for 7 months and the initial stage i had pretty bad side effects including increased anxiety and gastrointestinal probs ( eg stomach and bowels ) ..

          however im now on 900mg daily ( 3 x 3 times as day ) and it seems to have levelled out .... very minor side effects but significantly less than when i started them 

         the problem with gabapentin is they are a anti-seizure medication and have all the side effects common with these types of meds ... thats why you hear of many epilepsy sufferes skipping their meds as the side effects can be sometimes pretty bad 

          however its a waiting game ... i noticed a improvement around the 5 to 6 month stage and have stuck at 900mg as my nerve pain is controlled and i dont see the point in increasing it to 3 x 400mg daily ( 1200mg ) as i may get side effects from the increased dosage 

           there is another nerve pain medication called "pregablin" which is similar to gabapentin but also has a marked "anti-anxiety" indication ... infact pregablin is prescribed to people with anxiety instead of the more addictive benzodiazepam meds ( eg valium,ativan and xanax ) .

          i advise you stick with it .. or ask your gp/doctor about pregabin .. since they are the same type of meds im sure they wont hesitate to prescribe them if you ask ....

    Hi Regina,

    ?I just increased my dose to 300mg 3x daily. Shakiness, tremors, MORE ANXIETY (supposed to treat) and difficulty peeing. How are you doing now? Still on the meds?
