Gabapentin

So my doctor put me on 300mg gabapentin 3x a day. I was weaning upto that. I made it one week with just 1 dose, then had to go 2 weeks on 2 doses a day. It made me really foggy and I couldn't tolerate the second dose so my doctor recommended going back down to 1 dose a day. I started this yesterday. Yeaterday I felt fine but today I am super nauseous. Is it possible that it's withdrawal symptoms or maybe something else?

Why prescribe Gabapentin for your stomach?

The Gabapentin was for nerve pain. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Hi. Kayla. I also used to take gabapentin. 1200mg 3 times a day. The side effects were horrendous. I felt like i was going to fall over all the time because they made me so dizzy. No nausea though. They made me sleep for hours. Even at times i didn't want to sleep. I weaned myself off them gradually. Horrible nasty things. They didn't even help my problem.

It is awful! It actually made it harder to fall asleep at night, for me, but super sleepy/zombie like during the day. I couldn't focus, I was tripping more often. But I didn't think I'd been on it long enough to get withdrawl symptoms by trying to wean off of them at only 3 weeks in.

The medication is probably disagreeing with you. I would come off them completely as soon as possible and ask your doctor for a milder medication or enquire of there is anything natural you could take instead.
