    Hi Marie,

Can't speak for others, but yes to me it's one of the side effects when you stop taking it. It's not nice, but eventually it will go.

Keep up the good job of getting off gabapentin.its a but if a haul with side effects, but if you're like me...it's worth it all to be free of the horrible drug.

Thank you for getting back to me. It's good to know someone understands. Today was a really bad day. Hopefully it gets better and dosent take too long to go away.

Why do you say this such a bad medication?

While I was on it I was loosing my eyesight. Thought I was going blind. I've been off it 4 days now. Eyesight still a little blurry.

Yes!!. I failed to take my dose while i was in the hospital and had the worst withdrawal so when i started taking it again the pain went away. I cannot risk it again so im back on. Hope it helps

The withdrawal is a horrible. The last couple of days I have had the worst painful tingling leg pain. I already went thru 8 weeks of withdrawal where I was so sick. This is the aftermath that I'm going thru.

Maria, this is a very potent drug. You should not stop taking it all at once. You must taper off very gradually. A physician should guide you. Preferably a physician other than the one who prescribed it. This prescribing physician might not understand the severity of the drug. Good luck in your quest to get off of the Gabapentin.

Hi, thank you for writing back. I was weaned off Gabapentin over a period of 8 weeks by a Dr and am now off it completely for 30 days. I still have uncomfortable side effects. I do wonder how long they'll last. I was on it pre and post back surgery for 14 mnths. I was on 200 to 300 mg at night. . Am glad I'm off it. Most of the time I deal with this horrible tingling in my legs, upset stomach and bad headache. I know the nerves from my back surgery according to the surgeon are not healed yet so I don't know if that's where the tingling is coming from or is my body reacting to being off the Gabapentin. I was seeing a chiro. Stopped seeing him because he was causing back pain. I am still in PT from the surgery. Sometimes that seems to aggrevate the back too. I'm at a point don't know what to do. Thanks for letting me share with you.
