Sounds like you came off of it way too fast  you should drop it by 100 mg every 3 weeks.  I know we all want to get off of this drug but the slower the better. Hate to say it but if it is this bad you may want to go back on it for a couple of months and then start weaning off.  The slower the better.  Call you dr.  It took me like 6 months and I was only taking 300 mg maybe 400 a day.  Had trouble but not like you at all and I needed to go back on 100 for 2 months and then started process over again.  Wasn’t happy about it but. I was definitely better off.  Good luck.  Been off of it now I believe 2 years come October.   I wasn’t taking it for hot flashes but LOL I have to tell you it worked great for me with the hot flashes would rather have hot flashes than take this med.

Hi I have been on this evil drug for about 2 years now for spinal stenosis. Tried getting off cold turkey but the withdrawal is almost worse than the drug. The  reason I wanted to get off of Gabapentin is because of severe insomnia headaches and weight gain also a horrible angry feeling every day and night.  I was on 900 went to 600 and then 300. My Dr just prescribed 100 mg so Im trying 200 a day.  So very hard I feel Im going to be stuck on 200 or 300mg a day.  Good luck to you.  I also have dry mouth and eye issues a lot of tearing and my eyes just feel sore

Kathy you will get off of it. Sounds like you came off too fast I have been off of it for 2 years come October. When I was getting to the very end of coming off of it I started getting bad withdrawals. Had to go back on 100 mg once a day for I believe two months and then we reduced it to 50 mg a day for about three weeks the doctor said I could stop but I did 25 mg for about another week. And then I was fine.

      Hi kathy87887

I am amazed at the amount of support groups etc for this drug but incredibly grateful for them  ..I'm glad I'm off it and hopefully the withdrawal symptoms will in time diminish

Stay strong there is light at the end of the tunnel I'm angrier now that the doctor gave this to me for night sweats and flushes of all things and I trusted her... well you do tend to trust the medical professionals..  I will be doing more research in future..  best of luck  (((hugs)))
