I have been in unbearable pain due to a back injury. I've taken all sorts of drugs even a mild dose of morphine. Nothing helped the I had my first gabapentin and shortly after ...no.pain... wow. Here on this forum all I read is about the negatives what about the positives??

The positive is that the med works for some. When getting off of it it’s a struggle for some. If you need it and it works great! I’ve been on and off of it. It does work for my nerve pain. Coming off it takes some time.

    hi jim,

I'm actually off gabapentin now since Nov 17 like you I was taking gabapentin and liquid morphine

My back trouble has been going on since I was a small child after falling down 2 large flights of stairs in a large house I was visiting. My back just locks and the pain is excruciating.its something I live with. Like so many in here,i started getting side effects.jelly legs, lack of concentration, bad anxiety and depression. Headaches...the list was endless.i came off gabapentin slowly, but used the morphine as back up for when the pain kicked back in again.

I am slowly getting my life back.i still get crawling skin, jelly legs etc but thank goodness it's now less and less.

Short term of gabapentin helps then great, but it's when you come off it you get really bad side effects.

I'm just saying how its been for me. Hence you're reading about other folk who are getting really strange side effects, especially if they too try getting off it.

I wish you all the best.its great not to have the back pain, but for me.....its great having got off this awful drug too

    Take care x
