Gabapentin Weird Mouth Movement

Has anyone experienced this? I have been taking 1200 mg once every two weeks to get through pedicures. I have severe autoimmune issues with this insidious itching that comes on surreptitiously and suddenly consumes my entire body. I have learned to manage the itching on a day to day basis, but pedicures send me screaming and kicking. My symptoms have progressed slightly, so I have been taking 1200mg nightly. A few days after I started the nightly dose, I noticed my lips were moving in and out, pursing lips, and just weird incessant facial movent to the point that the insides of my cheeks are raw. I thought it was in my head, but other people are starting to notice. Have any of you experienced this?

I was only on 800 mg a day GABA and 100 mg Zoloft. Then I took away 400 mg . I was on it for 3 yrs for serve anxiety. Two month ago I took myself off of it completely . It really helped me out a lot, but now only Zoloft. I'm fine nowsmile when I was on GABA I experienced tiredness, bloating, high blood pressure, and I was unemotional .

I was given gaba for anxiety, and have been too afraid to take it due to the reviews on this site. It's nice to see something positive for a change. 😊

What’s positive? 😂 Looking like a Parkinson’s patient? Or maybe I loom like a meth head. Who knows.

    Hi Stephanie

You say that you take 1200mg to go to bed is that what your doctor has told you to do ??

I have to take 2700mg during the day to help with nerve damage.

They can take at least 3 days to get into your system before they start helping you. May be you need to take them on a regular basis.....john

Doc says take some ridiculous amount. The 100s work right away, so I was only taking it when absolutely necessary. I recently started taking it every night for pain and general restlesness. But 12 pills plus the other 30 I have to take was making me vomit. So she gave me 600s so i would only have two. I have only noticed the problem with the 600s even though my dose is the same. I wonder if it’s one of the fillers? The 100s are a capsule, but the 600s are big uncoated tablets, the size of Horizant. I’m going to get more 100s when I go back and see if the problem persists. I am supposed to take 1200 mg every 8 hours because it’s water soluble and doesn’t stay in your system very long (at least not in active form). I know it’s the Gaba, because I stopped for a few days to see if it stoples, and it did. It also stops when I take it, and for maybe 12 hpurs afterward (or maybe I’m just sleeping so I don’t know). I start to motice it a few hours after I wake up. It’s weird, right?
