GAD- brain buzzing/vibrating all day. Help.

Hello, I have been suffering with many forms of anxiety since June 2020. I've never really got over it. It started with a sudden death in the family, I've been diagnosed with PTSD/GAD.

Almost 2 weeks ago I had my covid vaccine and became quite poorly. About a week later I started to get internal tremors and vibrations all over my body, which obviously induced anxiety. My upper arms felt like they were being squished, my arms legs and neck are heavy. I got seen by a doctor who originally said it was my immune system firing up against the vaccine and not to worry. The past 4 days the vibrating is starting in my head, it feels like someone's shoved a plug in the back of it and turned me on at the mains. I get vibrations all through my head, then it moves down to my face, shoulders, arms.. man I'm exhausted.

Sometimes my teeth vibrate with it and I can physically see it in my body.

I spoke to the doctor again and she said that my symptoms are not consistent with anything other than stress and anxiety. I have noticed that the odd time I'm calmer it does subside slightly but it's such a horrible and frightening thing. I could put up with it if it only lasted 5 10 minutes but I've had it for 6 hours so far today.

Can anyone please relate and put me at ease? I think I've reached my tether. I can't live like this anymore. I can't stop crying. After having severe anxiety for over a year I'm struggling to accept that I haven't felt every symptom going and can't help feeling this must be something else.

thank you for reading.

so you didn’t feel that way until a week after the Covid vaccine?but you were OK before that? I’m just wondering if it’s a result of the vaccine or if it’s your anxiety flaring up.I have not had the vaccine yet, but I have had the internal vibrations in the head and arms, legs etc. from anxiety. On and off for many years when I’m anxious.

before you got the symptoms, were you extremely anxious about anything? That might be the reason.

i would say work very hard at reducing your anxiety and if the symptoms subside then you know it’s that. any symptoms related to the anxiety or not harmful to you. Even though they feel scary and weird. Do anything you can to relax your mind. That’s the only way you’re going to somewhat figure this out. Listen to relaxing meditations, take a nice relaxing bath, practice Long slow deep breathing. Regardless of the cause, it will eventually settle down. You’re going to be OK. Doesn’t sound anything like a serious condition. Very very similar to The sensations that anxiety causes. I really do hope you feel better soon

Thank you, I was anxious before the vaccine but not to this extent. My anxiety has crept up since so I'm thinking maybe it's tipped me over the edge.

I'm trying my hardest to accept it today and get on with my day, like you say if it calms down I know it's anxiety. It did settle last night for a bit, it's just exhausting. All my muscles go tight in my shoulders, neck and arms when it comes on.

if you don’t mind, let me know when it all settles down. i am in my 50s and a little concerned about taking the vaccine with my underlying anxiety. Not sure if it will make it worse. So I was looking for someone who already had anxiety who got the vaccine and was feeling more anxious. At my age, it would be really difficult if that happened.

I do hope you feel better soon ❤

Hi Jan, not sure if you've had the vaccine yet.. my symptoms did settle for a while but they have been coming back again. Still none the wiser if its anxiety or the vaccine. I'm not having the second one.

I am a proponent of everyone getting all our standard and Covid vaccines...but your symptoms are the vaccine. 😦 Do not let anyone tell you that all the sudden your anxiety is causing vibrations. It is not. I got buzzing, vibrating, electrical sensations after Pfizer Covid Vaccine. It flared up again with 2nd and 3rd doses and has never fully gone away. As I sit here the buzzing/vibration is bothering me right now, 10 months after first shot. The buzzing and vibration in my head has an electrical surge feeling attached to it. The vibration and buzzing in other areas of my body are just that without the electrical feeling. It keeps me up at night and is bothersome throughout the day. Also have constant vertigo and muscle weakness that impacts my ability to hold my body to stand up at times as well as other weak muscle issues. I still am a fan of the world getting vaccinated but should have known that with my neuro history (chronic migraines) this shot might have neuro effects. 😦 Let me know if you find anything to calm the buzzing down. Take care.
