I have had GAD and major depression for 2 years now also. I wake with it and go to sleep with it. It is 24/7.

    I am a 55 year old female.

I wish I had the answer. I take 3 meds and have therapy once a week. Nothing seems to help very much.

I do manage to still work full time. Luckily, I have an office to myself, so I can sit and cry without others noticing.

I hope you can take comfort in knowing that you are not alone.

I have faith that we will get better eventually.

My goodness you are doing well managing to work throughout this.

i have the same problem, 24/7. Trying to get a better med. ut no success. Cbt helps a bit but is expensive.

i am like you, i keep my faith in the fact that eventually i will get better,,its just not happened yet.

GAD and depression is a little recognised illness which is hard to work through, i dont think i have ever done anything so hard in my life.

There is a place here called Daymark Recovery. Therapy charges are based on your income, so that is really helpful. I

Hi, I can't comment on the meds as I'm not knowledgable about them I'm afraid. But I can say you will get there, it may not feel like it now but you will get there! I've suffered since I was 11 (now 37) I have times, years even of being fine and well, then it hits me!! I'm having a hit me time at the moment unfortunately.

Have you tried counselling? I've have cognitive therapy a few times and am waiting for more, it can work wonders.

Please remember you are not alone, and your doctor is there to help you and put you in touch with people you can talk to.

    Hello Stephen

You have sufferred from Mental Health problems fo two years and now have lost your job and need another job. You still have twelve years before retirement, so you need to decide on a fresh start, You need to ask yourself how you wish to return to Employement. Do you need to consider if you wish to go back to your type of work or are you looking now for a new pathway. If that is what you want you need to look outside the box. The poblem with this is of course financial. Cna you live a dream.

I was medically retired late 80s because of my Chronic Disability and I was a Writer for a time.

In the last five years we moved to a new area and then I beame a Pensioner living out in the countryside in an adapted detached bungalow, with a large garden to keep my Wife busy.

It can be hard starting afresh, although very rewarding. So you make a decision be brave and run with it.

We now have a Irish Collie who keeps us busy and we live in the countryside where our dog can run, also we are only several miles away from wonderful long sand beaches where the dog can run for miles.

All I can suggest is write down what you want to do and be willing to try something that will task your needs with something you will enjoy.

I am now sixty six  and it is wonderful looking out towars the hills and countryside.

The skies the limit, I do not know what inteests you have o what you were employed at, so it is very difficult to suggest anything.

We are taking out Level Two Skippers Examination and Radio so we can get out in a Power Boat around the Scottish Irelands. So it gives us a real change of life choices

Our skies the limit, let us know what you wish to do
