Gain weight around stomach but nowhere else on my body(New Symptom)

Hi all
Iv posted many times on this site and was wondering if anyone here has the same symptoms as myself. As you all know Iv been suffering with the feeling of burping almost every 20minutes., I also have a white coating on my tongue not to mention I feel like I have constipation, its horrible. another new symptom I have developed is a huge stomach,I havent gained weight elsewhere just around my stomach area. I have just recently had an endoscopy. And the Dr had given me a form stating that everything was normal, whether they did an biopsy Im not sure, Would have been good to have done an biopsy, as I would like to know what I have'. The form stated my stomach was normal and my esophageus is normal, still doesnt explain why my stomach is huge and I am 100% positive that Im not pregnant'.I have gained weight around my stomach after the endoscopy.which was December 11th of Last year'. Does anyone else have these symptoms, I have put it down to either Gas in the stomach, whcih was what my GP had advised me of, that I had acid reflux, I dont take any tablets for this as I think it hasnt been helping me for the past 7 months.as its suppose to reduce the acid'. or something or rather'. my stomach has increasingly enlargened'. and I had an ultra sound done 2 years ago'.A few people have told me that I look pregnant which I know Im not'. it come back with nothing;. As embarassed as I feel the only thing I think It could be is either Gas, or something I prefer not to say. I have had a celiac test'. gluten test, come back with nothing as well'. Do any of yous suppose it could be ovarian cyst or cancer? What are your guys thoughts? Please help.

Ppi's do work for me tho although my doctor grumbles that there's no evidence that I have reflux from my tests (the gasto idiot said its all related to globes- yep apparently I just imagine it all) so she shouldn't really be prescribing them.
It's so difficult to be taken seriously with these issues

I have white coating on my tongue so I use tongue scraper and try to clean it lightly as it will cause bad breath.
My tummy is flat in the morning and begins to be bigger in the ate afternoon. Some of the trigger I believe would be softdrinks and carbs.
I am gaseous most of the time and feel lighter inthe morning.

I go tomorrow for a GE test (gastric emptying test). They will monitor how quickly the food goes through my stomach by checking hourly to see where the food they give me (with slight radiation) is at that point.
I wasn't told anything (except no food or liquids, incl. water, after midnight) so I Googled it and that is what I read. I think 80% of the food should have moved on within 4 hours.
I bet it won't have, since all I had yesterday was some oatmeal, herbal teas, and a small piece of chicken, and this morning my stomach was still distended. The bloating is so high up that by the end of the day it is extremely uncomfortable wearing a bra. Two weeks ago I made myself a veggie burger, and my stomach reacted poorly, distending to the point that my ribs hurt, I felt out of breath, then my back went into spasms.
So hopefully tomorrow the test will show what is happening, and hopefully it is nothing serious.
Maybe this test is something you should request? I can relate to your discomfort. i have lost weight, but because of the distension in my abdominal area, I have not been able to go down a size in jeans. I feel that I look like a potbellied demon in a Hieronymus Bosch painting.
Anyone else have back issues because of this condition?

I had the GE test today (Gastric Emptying) and it is quite a benign test. I was given a scrambled egg to eat that had some kind of radioactive substance in it (benign?) that would allow the journey of the egg to be seen, and its pace. I had to lie still under a machine for an hour and a half. I dozed off, so i guess that helped!
Ask your doc about that. I am not sure why you had that P H test on top of an endoscopy, and I hope you were anesthitized for that! When I had mine under anesthesia, my nurses told me that not all countries do that, which I find reprehensible!
I have no idea whether my latest test will discover anything, but I hope it does. I am tired of all the discomfort and pain, as it seems everyone on this list is!

No Im not In England'. but YES it is horrible' - though the nurse who had done it at the time implied that its nothing, when actually it is something, its something I wouldnt recomment to others unless you really want to get down to the problem of it and if its necessary then yes you have no other option but to have it done ...My GP HAD Suggested to me that it was a severe acid reflux problem'. in which case the person (Specialist ) had told me there was minimal acid reflux inside of me'.
Im just upse with it all. All the symptoms I do experience is Overwhelming as in too much to cope with'. . Too many symptoms all at once'.. I never thought that I would have to endure all this .. Iv recently had a CT Scan and it come back with nothing. Now a new and surprising symptom I seem to have are chest pains.... above the constipation and acid reflux, where I feel nasueated constantly'.. with foods I eat etc.. Nothing actually really comes up in my throat, but its nasty'.. horrible taste in my throat. My chest pains are the worse.. I dont know what actually causes it.. Its a feeling of pins and needles on both sides of my chest'. It seems that everytime I go to the doctors, they are fed up , but Guess what Im fed up with them giving up on me'.. thats what Im fed up with'.. I dont make things up I just express what Im going through whether people choose to believe me I dont care'. Because one can never experience what Im going through'.pins and needles in my chest both sides, I do have an inhaler'. I also have pantoprazole, for acid reflux, I take codeine for chest pains, it does nothing really, just makes me drowsy'.. I still feel the pain on my chest... it comes and goes as it pleases whether if Im sitting or not sitting'. So its not actually due to physical movement it comes and goes'. I could be lying down and it comes on'.. I have zee top tablets which is for my hayfever, but thats nothing really compared to the chest pains and the nausea that I experience... I am tired of it all, it does exhaust me'..

What is a gastro emptying test, is that like a PH STUDY TEST, where the tube threads through the nose to the throat down into the stomach, yeap thats horrible' its like what the? ??? the nurse who did mine said or implied it was a piece of cake' - When I actually think she doesnt know what shes talking about', because nothing is a piece of cake when Youre having tests done;. she of all people should know that'. I mean trying to politely say its Nice' - It really isn't...Sometimes I wonder if they are in the right expertise of field'

I have all of these symptoms, was told a year ago that I have acid reflux. I have no heartburn, but a barking cough, and breathing problems like asthma. None of my clothes fit me anymore because of my bloated stomach. As I also have had severe clinical depression for most of my life this has increased my depression enormously and am now seriously considering suicide. I can't take the PPI meds as they produce severe side effects. I do not have problems lying down On the contrary, it's the only thing that brings any relief. I am desperate. Beyond desperate actually. I am in Italy and have had none of the tests others refer to here except for blood tests , all of which were normal. You can't argue orvl"work with" doctors here. At least that has been my experience. I don't know what to do anymore.

Hello elena53299
I completely understand the frustration. I have done many blood test and everything comes back normal. The Dr just tell me I'm depressed and I need to stop eating. I have gained 75lbs since. Imagine I'm 4"11 weighing 200lbs.
I have noticed that when I don't eat much carbs my body does feel better, however, don't loose weight.
In regards to your depression I found it very helpful to do aerobics, my first 3 months doing these was terrible cause my ?? & brain were not connected. Persistence made it. And believe me every time I do exercise I feel much better. Due to family issues I have not been able to be persistent with exercising.
It's hard to feel & see ourselves this way, I just tell my self everyday. I need to start loving me more just like I am and commit my self to me a little more and everything will be alright.
I pray everyday and read the Bible this has been my strongest comfort.
Hope this information helps you. God Bless

I have been trying to figure out how I am gaining weight while eating next to nothing. I am on a cane, but I do walk and I have aquatic therapy 3 days per week. In the therapy I use resistance tools....(like weights you would use on land) so I do get a decent work out. I had always been very active and healthy but a major surgery in 2011 changed things for me in that regard. I have been nauseous for approx. 3 mos. Sometimes very much so other times mild....but always there. Had an abdominal ultrasound everything looked fine. I just can't explain why,....if I am only taking in 4-600 calories a day how can I gain weight?!?!?! So I too am at a loss Elena53299. A few days ago I was experiencing severe stomach cramps, then blood showed up during a bowel movement....which prompted me to make an appt. with a Gastro Dr next week.
This is frustrating, depressing, and I'm angry. I was diagnosed with depression and PTSD many years ago, needless to say this doesn't help.
The people around me love me. They would miss me if I was gone. I still contribute good things to this world and Elena I would venture to say you do as well. It is a struggle to be positive......but we must. Reciting the "Serenity Prayer" I have found to be miraculous. Do you know it?
"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference"
This makes a beautiful difference in my life while trying to figure out what's going on with my body. Realizing and remembering everyday the people who count on me for advice, or a hug, or my love for them gives me the strength to continue. Please continue Elena53299, please. My prayers will now include you, and I so hope you are feeling better. The depression coupled with our everyday problems is something many people don't understand, I do understand. It's very hard...but please continue the fight dearest one....please continue to love, to give, to accept. The people who love you will appreciate that.
I will post what I find if anything. Glad to have found this forum. All the best
