gall bladder removed, will Xenical still work?

Posted , 2 users are following.

i took xenical a long time ago and had the usual side effects i.e. oily stool but found it to be effective. but i have put on weight in the recent years and jumped onto the xenical bandwagon once again. unfortunately nothing is happening, what is worse is that i am actually constipated. i had my gall bladder removed and have always had trouble with the frequency of going to the toilet but it seem to have gotten worse with the xenical. i initially thought that i am not purging because i am making healthier choices in food, but i went on a binge of fatty food over the weekend and still nothing. anyone with the same experience?

Exactly the same for me, except I still have my gall bladder! I also suffer with constipation normally, but certainly shouldn’t do when taking this medicine. I’ve tried them all (thinking maybe they were fake), so have also tried Alli and taken double dose. Nothing! Even tried taking 8 Alli, just to test out. Still nothing.

So either my body has become immune to them, or the ingredients have changed, I believe the latter, simply because I had a few left over from when I took them years ago. I tried them 2 years ago and they still worked, I then had a gap as they were difficult to find. Now nothing works.

Some people reckon they work for them, but I’m guessing maybe they didn’t try the original stuff years ago, and perhaps they just “think” they’re working as they’ve lost weight due to dieting.

sorry to hear that it isn't working for you, but i must admit that i am somewhat glad that someone is also going through when i am experiencing. it really is very disheartening, i have 2st to lose and have tried many methods; from working out to egg diets and whatnots; but i have been on a plateau for more than a year now and thought orlistat would work. looks like i thought wrong!
