Gall bladder/stones

Have been experiencing pains in my upper right abdomen just under my ribs, also back pain. Dr prescribed laxatives 8 x a day, didn’t resolve the pain or bloating. I have gone back had another examination, urine test, bloods taken and request for ultra sound. What diet is recommended for these symptoms, does anyone know? Some I have seen on internet say milk is ok, fruit etc others say not! Not really any advice from Drs. Any help would be great. Thank you

I stayed with a really light diet. I would eat jello, pudding, soup, lettuce but slowly, and meat but nothing fried and eat it slowly. That seemed to help I avoided milk but almond milk would be ok but small amounts at a time. I would also suggest you ask for a hepatobiliary scan (HIDA) which test the function of your gallbladder if the other things don’t show anything. I hope you feel better soon.

Laxatives won't help, as you already know. I can't imagine a doctor that would believe that taking all those laxatives would be even safe! There is a gallbladder diet on this site. You can also try the fodmap diet--it's on the web. It's mainly trial and error as each person reacts differently.
I'd suggest a referral to a gastroenterologist, who would know better how to test, diagnose and treat you. Most go's know nothing about gallbladder issues.
All those laxatives could have made you very ill indeed. Best of luck to you. xx

It seems to me that your gallbladder may not be releasing enough bile to assist with your digestion. That's why you need to be seeing a gastroenterologist. xx

Very low fat diet. I would have bile duct spasms they call it spincter of oddi disorder. My pain was same spot.. under middle of my ribs. Since I've started this low fat diet I've had no pains. No milk, very little cheese, on labels I look for the fat content to be 6% or less, no greasy food.

If interested i can email you the recipe
Now, if you just suffer a mild gallbladder attack such as from heavy dinner and you need immediate relief , mix 1-2 table spoon of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water and drink it. You will have an immediate relief.
