gallbladder removal

i h gallbladder  removed on may 20th and ended up with a bile bag for ten days eventualy needed an E.R.C.P to put a stent in now i have to have this removed on 16th august still having lots of problems with excess gas diahorrea etc.

    Hi Linda,

     So sorry to hear of the GB complications. I have not had to deal with what you have it must drive you nuts. 

    Can u take Imodium to control the diarrhea . Drinking lots of water is important to avoid dehydration. Also can you drink jello water to control the 

    the diarrhea. There are also OTC meds for gas, ask ur dr if they are ok. 

    Do you know why all the extra bile and gas. I can't imagine how miserable you must be. The dr should help with a liquid diet until this clears up. call the office and ask for further info if needed to help control gas and ask for enzymes that can be prescribed  helped me after my GB  was removed. The GB provides certain enzymes that helps break up foods once removed it takes time for our bodies to adjust.

    i hope there are others here that can give you more options.

      problem is wjen i was in hospital they discovered i have a heart condition called long qt syndrome and i have to watch what medications i take now evev some diahorrea tablets its such a pain

    I didn't have any of this, such as bile bag or having a stent put in.  Sorry you are having the excess gas and diahhrea .  Hope it improves very soon!

      seen surgeon on friday took bloods ordered ultrasound incase collection of bile said symptoms might improve when stent is removed

    Very glad to hear you did see the heart specialist.  Now, let's hope, with some additional medical help, you will begin to feel better and on your way to recovery!
