Good day pplsmile had my gallbladder removed two weeks ago, what a nightmare sad went home from hospital after few days, seemed to be OK, but after a week my belly button stitches opened up and started bleeding, got scared. So went to my gp she said I had hematoma so she send me to the local nurse, got some blood squeezed out of it but still have hard lump under my stitches and my belly feels just weird, sometimes a bit of pain.Nurse said it's a bruising from surgery and it will heal just need some time. Seems to be in two weeks nó progress. The bleeding stopped but the belly button still hard. Has anyone had something like that? I hope everyone is getting better

Yes I burst my stitches under bellybutton after 2 weeks and it then got infected, partly closed over then opened again and was still infected. So didn’t properly heal until 8 weeks post-op. My bellybutton still feels like I have small lumps underneath the skin. That’s just where they’ve made the incision though and will be scar tissue. Mines has never really gone away after getting appendix out then gallbladder out. The appendix scar was almost inside my bellybutton but gallbladder one was a cut from inside bellybutton then down the way.

You’re only 2 weeks post-surgery. It’s normal for your stomach to still be quite swollen. Try to remember it’s a major surgery despite it being laparoscopic. They’ve made holes in your stomach wall and they need to heal which takes months. Then need to remember you’ve had an organ removed so your body needs time to get used to living without it xx

Surgeon was saying you'll be good in few weeks, but I think I need much more than that. Its just not what I thought it will be. How far you are after the operation? They had to make a bigger incision in my belly button so they could get the massive stone out of me, the other small incisions are healing OK. It's so many ppl sharing their experience, no one mention that it could be so many complications. I hope you are well

Give yourself a good 8 weeks and think you’ll feel a lot better than you do now. I’m 5 months down the line now. Yeah I know what you mean. They act like it’s a simple surgery and that you can eat what you want and nothing goes wrong. When the truth is it takes a good 6-8 weeks to start to feel even remotely normal again xx

I had my gallbladder removed Sept 13, 2017 and still have cramping and diarrhea. I have been taking Lomotil for the cramping and the diarrhea when it starts up. Before surgery I thought this was going to be a walk in the park. WRONG It has been the longest 4 months of my life.
