Gallbladder removed a month ago- overeating?

I got my gallbladder removed about a month ago due to symptomatic gallstones, it got to where I could eat nothing and would wake up early every morning throwing up.

I honestly thought I had a severe stomach ulcer at first so I suffered for about a month and a half of throwing up everyday while I was trying home remedies and probiotics.. I had to have been sick with gallstones way before the sickness had gotten to it’s full potential because I bought it was Normal to always feel dull and I thought just because I’ve eaten so little for so long that that’s why for a very longgg time I’ve only been able to take like 5 bites of food and would feel completely full and sick if i were to try to eat more (I thought this was because my body was conditioned to eat so little over time)

When I had surgery I was 94lbs, now that it’s been removed I’ve literally NEVER eaten so much in my life EVER, I went from a few bites of food a day to now it’s like I don’t get full I don’t stop eating until I feel sick from overeating.. I’m worried because I’m eating tons of sandwiches and bread and EVERYTHING else I can get my hands on. I do want to gain weight but not too much at once or all from the wrong foods because it seems like eating enough will no longer be an issue for me.

Has anyone else experienced this and the feeling of wanting to eat everything and not stop lol

I’m 100lbs already so the weight gain is definitely happening, it didn’t start right away because I went through a couple weeks 2 or 3 of eating only as I call rabbit food and bland foods because I was experiencing diarrhea after the removal and couldn’t afford to not hold any nutrients in, now that that has improved I’m wondering if eating too much or too much of one thing will make me sick or have stomach pain and issues.

.. would just like to know anyone else’s experiences, thanks 🙏🏼

hi I also had mine out like 9 weeks ago and I was very ill for 3 years with mine.

yes I want to eat everything and seem hungry all the time in fact tonight I’ve had some lovely lebonese food with grilled chicken cubes and chips and Houma and grilled giant prawns followed by a tuna subway then at home some strawberry trifle lol

i was 19stone 7 when it begun and dropped to 14 stone 7 and the finish so I lost like 70lbs

and already I’ve gained like 27 lbs in 9 weeks so yes lol

do you still have pain ?

Thanks for responding.. I only have pain now when I start to eat like greasy type foods because I’m not used to them yet but usually by the time I use the bathroom I feel relief, the first couple of weeks anything I would eat even just vegetables or plain pasta would give me bad stomach pains within half an hour followed by diarrhea. Now the pain seems to have let up mostly besides being sore and tender to the touch.

Sounds like I’m going through the same phase as you I want to eat like everything in site and don’t stop myself until I basically feel sick to my stomach from overeating, I’ve never been so selfish with food 😂

Hi, I had my gallbladder removed in February of this year. I went through the same thing. The first couple of weeks I did the same thing. Food tasted so good. I was eating everything too. It will happen from us starving ourselves cause. Of our gallbladder. You will eventually slow down. I did. Back to my old eating habits again. I do feel alot better though. I still do have to watch somethings I eat because they might go right through you. You will find that out on what you can eat and can't. Your body will tell you. Good luck.

Hi, yes for awhile I was turned off of dill pickle chips and a few other foods. I did for some reason love my egg salad sandwiches and my coffee and my milk and ice cream. It's normal. But watch the stress. Food will go through you with the stress..As the months go by, you will notice you will start to feel better. But also certain acidy foods will go through you. Just becareful. And if you have had, becareful with that too. Don't mean to be rude. But if you feel a fart coming on becareful. Take care.

hello, i just had my gallbladder removed June 30, 2022(10 days ago) & I literally said the same thing to my daughter! I have done nothing but eat!! lol i wasn't sure if its because my stomach had shrank since i was in the hospital for 1 week & i was only allowed or able to eat 3 times while i was there, but I'm just ALWAYS HUNGRY!! I'm hoping it doesn't stay this way because i can only imagine how this will affect my health lol. I do wake up somewhat nauseous in the mornings though, not sure why, but that's new. After surgery, my bowels wouldn't wake up so I'm wondering if that's part of it, go in for 1 issues & come out with another is my kind of luck!
