gallbladder symptoms or something else?

Hi there, I was following the Medifast program for 25 weeks. I lost a total of 52.3 lbs over the 25 weeks I followed the program. All is well except for a few things. Over the last 5 months, I have been experiencing multiple symptoms. It all started with a manageable cramp located high up in my ribcage area, right side. Overtime, the following symptoms have been added to my list...constant annoying cramp that NEVER goes away, belching, tons of gas, neck, upper back, ( between shoulder blades & directly in line with the pain I have on the front side) right shoulder pain at times as well. My stomach is always upset, I am constantly constipated and my bowel movements have been a very light shade of tan. Is/has anyone experience with these problems? I have seen a doctor, and I have a HIDA SCAN scheduled for the 1st of April. I am just hoping I xan hang on that long. This really does suck. I cant workout anymore because I just dont feel well enough. sad I want my life back. Any helpful information would be more than appreciated. Thanks for your time.

    Hi

Unfortunately it is only after the damage has been done that docs tell you that these weight loss pills like Ali and Xenical mess with your gall bladder. I was on Xenical and afterwards asked the doc if they can cause gallstones! YES she said,

You are describing the classic symptoms of gallstones. .they will then offer to take it out whereupon you might develop bile salt Malabsorption and there is no going back.

Look out for a gallstone diet on here and join groups to know what to do.

Sorry to be so blunt but I know to my detriment that what heals one thing messes with another.

Look on Facebook for gallbladder forums.

    Good luck love,

To minimise symptoms take one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar In a glass of water or lemon juice in a glass of water. Milk thistle inhibits the production of gallstones, peppermint tea eases pain, charcoal tablets, sucked not chewed will inhibit gas, Quedra Pedra tea will break gallstones...vitamins to replace what you lose, low fat meals, no pastry, biscuits, cakes, anything with fat in...

    I hope this helps ...

I too had the pain, gas, belching etc after dieting to loose weight now I have a sluggish gallbladder. I am hoping to avoid removing my gallbladder. I know the dieting has something to do with it. I am now seeing a a ND. Pain is gone that was in my stomach,it was bad but that is gone. If I followed everything the ND advised the gallbladder would probably be ok now but I have a hard time with food

Thanks for the replies. Medifast is actually a program that was designed by a medical team of doctors. It has been around for years. Has nothing to do with any kind of pill. Anyhow, who knows what has caused this. Whatever it is, it is not fun. Again, thanks for the feedback. It is much appreciated.

I actually made a trip to the er in November. I had blood work, sono, cat scan. The only thing that showed up was a little polyp, which should not cause any symptoms. Hoping the HIDA scan will be a good place to start.
