I have history of gastritis and gallstones. Not removed the gb. For past 2 weeks , i'm having severe bloating and i need to burp a lot to get rid of the bloating and lot of acid reflux at night. No appetite. It is very tough to understand this is causing by gastritis in  stomach or the gallbladder with stones.Any one with gallstones and acid reflux with heavy bloating? also did removal of GB solved the acid reflux? it is like chicken or egg  story , which is causing the trouble.

Gallstones affect the entire digestive system.  Your gallbladder's unable to properly measure the bile, which backs up into your stomach causing problems with gastritis. It seems more logical that it's your gallbladder causing these problems.

I don't know why you are so reluctant to hang on to an organ that causes you so many problems and can become cancerous. I can understand you might want to be sure it's your gallbladder.  But, keeping a diseased organ in your body is never a good idea.  xx

Agree totally . My gb is full of tiny stones and has had me in hospital with an acute attack. Had indigestion for ages. There's no way Id consider anything but having it removed . But then I'm a retired nurse with plenty of surgical knowledge and experience smile

thanks Lynda. My GB was functioning at 0% in hida scan and did not remove. after 7 years, now got gallstones.i dont have severe pain on my gb, but the bloating on the leftside is extreme, so i'm bit worried even removing my gb will solve the problem or not.

I had gastritis before I knew I had gallbladder issues. Since it was removed I’ve never had it again. I continued to take omeprazole or lansoprazole after surgery as was taking ibuprofen and it irritates my stomach, so it was to protect it. Your gallbladder is not functioning at all so when you removing it?

You know what your next step is. You are a nurse. Get rid of that pesky organ. You don't want all of these digestive issues. Good Luck . 😎 Get your livelihood back.

Now you know that things are worsening--you have stones. Unfortunately, there are no certainties in medicine--though most people would like to believe there are.  Sometimes, all you can do is an intervention and hope for the best.

I've been told two stories of people who held onto their nonfunctioning gallbladders too long and ended up getting gallbladder cancer. Right now, you're worrying about bloating not going away. To me, getting cancer would be more of a concern. xx

scottie - I'm at USA  and my native is India, the cost comes here around 6k, in india might be less and also have good family support, so still yet to decide were to remove. I just need to give the dates to surgeon in USA.

Again, i dont have a gallbladder pain, but severe indigestion with bloating and lot of acid reflux reaches till throat. Nowdays PPI or Antiacids does not work for me ,bcoz i have taken it for almost 10 years now.So i always have a second thought if removing my GB will solve this problem or not.

Started off few yrs ago with just indigestion after eating any thing fatty no pain. But recently getting reflux -Was taking gaviscon which worked and avoiding fat.till had sever attack middle of Feb after I'd used hazel nut oil to cook some cumin and garlic powder before I added it to slow cooked meat and veg. Started with indigestion pain over stomach area quickly intensified to severe pain. Which wouldn't settle with paracetamol and gaviscon. Pain over stomach then also into centre back. Couldn't lie down pain even worse. Vomited green bile which settled pain for abt 5 minutes then it returned .carried on like this for many hrs. Took self to local AE kept in hospital 7 days. Had it antibiotics ussc and mri which showed gb full of tiny stones. Awaiting surgery hopefully abt June if not before.

Hope your surgery settled your symptoms
