Gardening

I enjoy gardening and before my op managed to get everything shipshape. With all the fine weather the grass had grown and today I managed to mow the lawn. My wife raised the blades, started the mower and emptied the box, I pushed it. Satisfaction. Tony

Ooh envious of you Toby - I thought today that I'd like to mow our lawn. It's not v big and I've got a lightweight push mower - might have a go tomorrow. I would like to be able to bend down and trim the leaves off the hellebores so I can see more flowers ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒบ๐ŸŒผ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒบ๐ŸŒผ! It's so mild we've got a clematis still flowering.

Its surprising isnt it, how the things we took for granted in doing every day, when we can now do them again its like climbing mount everest, Lots of first in this journey, first time you dress your self, put on your own boots (still cannot do sox) walk outside, one thing they do not tell you is the experience of this journey has up and downs, we all get to the same place in the end. But how we get there is different yet the same๐Ÿ˜‹

Yes there are things I am unable to do. Shoes and socks, drying legs/feet, driving the car. But I am thankful that I am mobile, mostly with one crutch. Tony

I can do socks, but not shoes. Don't even want to wear shoes atm as my foot and ankle on my operation leg are still swelling regularly. Flip-flops are my go-to foot protectors when outdoors for now.

My Mr Everest moments these days are just being able to lift my leg to rest my foot on the coffee table without having to use my hands to lift it... oh, and not falling over when I wrestle with the screen door and a step at the same time when going out to check the mail...

My sister, who is a fitness fanatic, keeps posting exercise videos on her Facebook timeline. I would never had done the exercises in my previous life, but am jealous now that other people can bend and I can't.

    another milestone -well done!

I can go onto kneeler easy, and up again, to planr pansies, but cannot get couch, alas. At the gym, i try to sit back on a foam roll on my haunches, and hope that will loosen me up.

Had our last mow done for us - only paid a very small price to a local company.

    Worth every pennyย twisted

It will be nice however, when spring comes around, to be able to get out there again.
