Gas and indigestion

Hello to all!

I wondered if any of you suffered with gas, bloating and pressure in your chest area? Mine is always above my left breast and it is usually first thing in the morning and sometimes after I eat. Is this a part of reflux?

Mine acts up around my cycle mostly. I just recently got over the stomach flu and that reality caused it to act up because of the excessive vomiting. One day it was so bad I thought it was my heart. But I took a Pepsid and it calmed it down some. It sometimes gets bad if I get hungry too,

I always panic and think it is my heart mines seems to be worse not long after eating and then again same as you when I get hungry. Right now I have a bad pain in centre if my chest ate my dinner about an hour ago and that's it started

I have gone to the ER twice because of this thinking it was my heart. The tests came back normal. Once they just gave me some Pepcid and Maalox. Sometimes it is difficult to eat when I have this. What have you tried that is effective?

I went to hospital 3 tines at the beginning of this year and had ecgs and blood tests all wer fine. I have started to change my diet a bit cutting out coffee seems to help a bit I get scared to eat because I know il feel rubbish when I do. I have been given medication called omeprazole by my doctor which I have been taking for 3 weeks haven't seen any difference but I can double my dose next week if want to so il see how it goes.

So are you taking Omeprazole 20MG or 40mg?  I will start by eliminating Dairy and Gluten before jumping to a highr dose. Have you seen GI and done an Endoscopy?

My doctors prescribed Omeprazole (Prilosec) for me too but it didn't seem to help even after they upped the dosage. I hope it helps you.

I see, but you can always try eliminating one at a time. First Gluten and if nothing happends then try dairy. hey found mild reflux on my esophaus and the back of my throat which appear to be the problem with my chest pain (heaviness) and breathing problems and I have taken up to 80mg of Omeprazole daily (60 days)  and it did nothing for me.  But many to get relieve from these medications.  Always keep in mind they are only controllling the amount of acid and they reduce efectiveness on many medications and even foods. So try to stay low until is clear what you have and if going higher don't take them for a long time if they are not helping. Now, when you stop, if you stop do it slowly, don't stop at once. They can always try another medication if this one doesn't work. I'm on Nexium 20mg but it does not apear to be helping. If this one does not work I have no where to go but natural remedies, and even if it does work I will try with natural remedies after I get better.

I have mild reflux and gastritis, reflux shown on my esophagus and back of my throat (mild)  I have heaviness, like wather or food is stuck on my breast-bone right in the upper middle of my chest- This is all day long, starts easy in the morning and by 5PM is much worrse. If I walk, eat or do exercise even worse.  Specially when I eat my breathng gets really bad. When I lay back it goes away 80%. I have no problem sleeping, no hearburn.  Saw my Asthma/Pulmo doctor and he highly believes based on my test and symptoms is all reflux and the reason he highly believes is all reflux is because hi has reflux himself and problems breathng as well.  He basically told me that eating better ( whole foods) will improve my condition and eventualy will not have the need for medications. He said to watch on NetF..x Forks and Knifes.

Yeah sometimes I feel it in the center of my chest too. Terrible feeling, isn't it? I get really hungry at night which of course works against me. I don't really have an appetite in the morning. These reflux flare-ups sometimes affect my appetite so much that I can't eat at all really which makes me lose inches here and there. It's awful!

I have lost 50 pounds the last 2 years.  I'm at the lowest i can go without being underweight.   This is driving me crazy because I do like to eat but the heavines on my chest is all day long and that comes fiirst.  Sure, why continue with a diet if you are not getting any better. ;-(  Only time will tell.

Yeah my weight has been up and down since 2014 which is when I started having issues with the reflux. I had just recently begun gaining weight back and was doing good until I got a stomach virus two weeks ago which caused a flare up of the reflux. Incidentally, I had a stomach virus in 2014 at or around the same time the reflux first began. I wonder if there is a correlation?
