Gas pains

Hi

Does anyone know if expelling lots of gas with pain first us part of diverticulitis, it's happening me mostly at night, bad Abdominal pain and some relief when I pass gas, having an mri this Monday but will probably need colonoscopy too, very very worried as have had awful symptoms six weeks now, one of worst parts is not being able to sleep, always pain somewhere

    Gas pains can be severe . Avoid food eating foods that cause gas build up. Soda water helps . Don't Suppress Passing Gas. If Possible, Move Your Bowels. Sip a Gas-Reducing Hot Tea. Chew Fennel Seeds.  Apply Heat to Your Belly. . Move Your Body walking helps . Keep a diary of foods that cause gas.

    Hi, I use buscopan it helps a lot to reduce the gas build up.

    Hi Kate you will know more after test are done I didn't have gas just severe pain Thought it was appendix but unfortunately it was diverticulitis going on 8 weeks now hospitalized twice and still on antibiotics Change your eating habits this may help a little Good luck

      Tks Ellen, I'm trying to be careful about food, are the antibiotics any good do you think?

      I feel the second round of antibiotics I was given tetracycline and flagyll are working no more fever and chills still significant abdominal and lower back pain

      Yes Kate when I talked to my primary care physician he said it's because your large intestine 40 foot long runs behind your back also I have not research this yet but I will in the next few days

      Tks Ellen, I find the back/rectum pain terrifying bit still hope it's diverticulitis, hope your research comes up with some answers
