Gastric band buddy needed!

Hi, I've opted to have a gastric band fitted, my op date has to be confirmed but is looking like mid January. Is there anyone out there who is having theirs at the same time? Would be great to think we're not going it alone!

    sorry banded 20th November, Im sure there will be someone else near your date being banded.  Remember there are lots of us who have had it done and we are only a mesage away for any questions you may have.  Good Luck with your journey x

    Like Jenni I was banded a while ago, well 24th October so it feels like ages ago!

    Have a look on here because we've all been helping each other on here and others have found it helpful.

    I have my first consultation next wek so I am hoping that I will be having the op in January sometime.

    It would be great to have someone out there who is going through the same as me.

    If I am honest I am a bit nervous but really glad that I have made this decision I know that it will change my life.

    are you feeling the same?

      hi shelley, i am having my band fitted on monday, getting nervous as don't really know how i will feel afterwards.

      Hi Nicola only natural to have anxiety and worry, yes it will hurt when you wake up and yes you will be fearful of eating and drinking and yes you will have chronic wind and pains in your arms your chest and your stomache ( well I did) would I do it again yes would I say the pain is unbearable defiantly not it's done in a few days and you have pain relief  you will be fine smile I'm now on small potions of all normal food 17 lb down weight loss is slowing appetite returning and ready for band fill x  it's nowhere near as bad a menstruation pains so please don't worry expect the worse and you will wake laughing and saying this is a diddle it's mind over matter x stay I touch n ask away it's just my opinion n my experience but I'm happy to share that as are many other lovely people on this forum they have been amazing support and all have different experiences, all valid one common complaint is the wind the pain is not really an issue it's discomfort that's all x
