    Hi Glynis

I am having my gastric sleeve on Tuesday (31st), when I had my my initial appt I was wanting to have the band. My consultant went through all three options, he wanted me to have the sleeve but at that time I was adamant that I wanted the band as the other two were "too drastic for me". He supported that and booked me to have the band leaving me with the option of changing my mind, which after doing my own research decided that this was the better option for me. Look at how much weight loss you want to achieve and look at the other options available to you, and the pros and cons with each type of surgery.

    Good luck

Thank you! I will certainly look into all options, I think you ave to be very sure and also take consultants advice, after all he is the expert lol Good luck for next Tuesday, how did you find the diet before surgery? xx

Pre-op diet is going fine, I don't know what one you will have to do as from reading on this forum there are different ones. The one I am on is the milk diet which consists of 2 litres of semi-skimmed milk, 1 litre of fluid, a pint of sugar free jelly (if you want) and a stock drink (bovril, marmite etc). I have been on it for 10 days and have lost 10 pound. I have not struggled with it as one it shrinks your liver making surgery easier and two by being without solid food for two weeks beforehand will help in the period post surgery and the pre-op weight loss is a bonus xx

Hi there, I am having mine on 15th April. Had my consultation 2 march & was scared what to say. Be completely honest about why you want it & listen to the pro's & con's (im sure you will already have done massive amounts of research). This comes straight from the experts so anything you think you may forget....write down...xx
