gastric surgery referal

Hi any one had and bariatic surgery through nhs scotland im a disabled man with muscle disease diabetic (2) high blood pressure sleep apnoea bmi 50 i have heard you can get straight referal to hosptial because i have significant health problems can anyone advise please

    Hi, I live in England and awaiting surgery, after I visited my gp she refered me for surgery but it had to go to a board for funding, this was approved and I started my journey, over 2 years later I'm just waiting on a date for the surgery, it's a long journey but one I'm hoping will help.

    Hi Gavin, im new here, ive also got a few health conditions and was referred by my gp for bariatric surgery last march, ive had to chase and chase my case, but was told i was approved last week,for the nhs to do it... im waiting for the next step which will be a date for the surgery , your gp can definately refer you to a hospital that does bariatrics...discuss it with them and go from there. Good luck on your journey.
