Gastritis but can't tolerate ppis

Posted , 3 users are following.

What do I do been? On 450mg ranitidine for a while but been told I've got gastritis and they recommend ppi.

Trouble is every ppi I try not only gives me loose stools and lower abdominal pain, n nausea and bloating but generally seem to make my reflux either no better or worse.

I've tried all the ones available in the UK. Pantoprazole has maybe slightly less side effects for me, but didn't help the gastritis last time I was on it.

Sometimes the "cure" is worse than the disease. I have tried both PPI'S and H2 blockers to no avail. If after 3 months and no improvement I just advised my Dr. I wished to discontinue and stopped. Also, all the negative press these meds have been getting lately gave me more pause to continue.

There are some interesting books dealing with "silent reflux" that will recommend lifestyle changes that may help you.

PPI's haven't helped me either. I've tried 5 of them. I'm going to a new dr today to get help. I think diet and lifestyle is the only way for me.
