Gastritis Results (2nd EGD in 12 Months)

Could someone decipher this for me? My G.I. Doc played this off 100% saying I do not need to worry and I can just continue to take a PPI (40mg of Prilosec) forever.....

I've had mild irritation in my tummy about 1.5-2 hours after I eat; no ulcers or bleeding

Final Diagnosis

A. Stomach, designated "gastric," biopsy:

  • Gastric mucosa with mild-to-moderate chronic (focally) active

    gastritis.

  • POSITIVE for intestinal metaplasia.
  • Mild epithelial atypia, favor reactive.
  • Reactive gastropathy.
  • Negative for diagnostic H. pylori-like organisms on Warthin-Starry

    staining.
