Gastro appointment

Hi, I had an endoscopy about four months ago and the results all seemed fine but I've today received a letter saying I have an appointment with the gastroenterologist in 2 months time. Is it usual to have a follow up appointment so long after the procedure? Trying not to worry x

Hi Lara, who gave you the results?  The appt is 6 months after the procedure, so I wouldn't read too much into it.  If it was something sinister, they would have called for you sooner.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. My GP gave me the results. I've had swallowing difficulties for about a year now. I can swallow, no choking, but swallowing seems to take more effort. They said the oesophegus looked fine during endoscopy but I think I'll go back to my GP about it.

Perhaps that is why you've got the follow up appt., so that the Specialist can see how you are getting on.
