Gastroscopy stopping omeprazole

Hi im having a camera down my throat on friday I forgot to stop omeprazole 7 days before, I remembered today so it will be 4 days i'll be stopping does anyone think it will be a problem? I cant re arange really as sorted time off work. I am having it done for acid reflux anf heartburn problems

    Did you get the leaflet with it Kelly?  I think it’s if they take a biopsy for H Pylori but I’m not hundred percent.  If you are concerned ring the endoscopy up.  Good luck about it will you report back how it went mine is in two weeks times.

    I’m sorry to tell you but my GP said you have to stop Omeprazole 2 weeks prior to an endoscopy/gastroscopy because it may affect a biopsy result. 

    Maybe you should phone your Doctors receptionist or Nurse to check this because if you arrive all set to have it done, they might just postpone it, which would be even more inconvenient for you.

    Contact the hospital and ask. I had mine and stayed on the ppi at the drs request but it depends what they want to find from the endoscopy

    Iv had two done in the past and never had to stop PPI medication just mentioned it when you go at least you have stopped now

    The only problem is that it won’t be a true reading . I would go for it but tell them the truth in case they miss something.
