If you hadn't posted it I would have! It is a disgrace - And Dorothy Byrne isn't afraid to tell it like it is.

One lady on another forum has put the link on her phone to be able to show it to any GP or other doctor who isn't up to speed on the symptoms and potential risks of GCA!

Thank you for the article. Sadly, I am not surprised but it's like a lot of other situations which if prevented would be less of a burden on the NHS. It is so shortsighted.......sorry for the choice of word. We have a lot of new young GPs in our practice now and there are some who are on the ball. I wonder if they would be alert to GCA. Thankfully, I haven't had to test their knowledge/ experience in that area.

This ** is** a scandal. Thankfully the author had a physician sister. So the original GP googled the symptoms. Wow!

I don't have a problem with my GP googling the symptoms - I have far more concern when they DON'T do so ...

what a pathetic disgrace. I'm at a loss for words right now, just trying to process.

my only 2cents at this time, is hopefully in Nov 2020, we'll AT LEAST have a "leader" we're(I'm) not thoroughly disgusted by!

Thank you for posting this BettyE. I am so pleased I read it. Knowledge about our own health is important for us. Now Im old, achey, nearly 70 and on steroids, I suspect , if my sight was on the line, I would give 'Aunt Acid' a run for her money nowdays if I felt I needed too.

Thank you for this link. Very interesting. Dorothy was also the guest on Desert Island Discs on Sunday. I haven't listened yet but will do so this afternoon.
