General shoulder pain question

I have had some pain in my right shoulder for quite sometime. Pain occurs when I do a few different things with my shoulder. It occurs when I rotate my arm down, raise it above my head, move it laterally, throwing anything, sometimes it is uncomfortable to sleep on, and lifting anything at a certain weight. I have been lifting weights for many years and my strength has been effected by this. I am 41 years old and I am fearing rotator cuff issues. I will be seeing a doctor after the first of the year. Does any of my symptoms sound like rotator cuff problems?

Yes it does sound like that. A good thing for you to do before the appointment is to get an xray if you haven't yet before the appointment. It just saves time. He may want a mri later. Good luck.
