I never before heard of genetic COPD. My case is a result of too many years of self abuse (mainly smoking). A medical professional may be better qualified to respond to your inquiry.

It is known by the name of Alpha1 antitrypsin deficiency - https://patient.info/health/alpha-1-antitrypsin-deficiency-leaflet
Some of the inhaler medicine is that as prescribed to other lung patients and some of the treatment will differ from "regular COPD"
People with Alpha1 are referred to a specialist hospital for assessment and treatment and usually it is recommended that the whole family be tested.
