Genital herpes???

For the past week I've been having pain in my vagina and it hurts when I pee, I have bumps on my vagina and it looks like pimples, I'm not sure if I just have a minor infection or if I actually have HERPES! I have a doctors appointment next week and I'm so impatient . I don't have any other symptoms on google that seem like they would be herpes but what seems crazy to me is that I actually have bumps which I've never had before? Super nervous help !

Hi Kaylee, What other symptoms are you having?? Did you notice any tingling before the bumps appeared?

I wouldn't jump to conclusions as far as having Herpes. Don't let the internet scare you, lol. I find myself with a cough and a runny nose and the internet tells me I have pneumonia. I would call your doctor's office in the morning and see if your doctor has any cancellations. Trust me, if it is H, you don't want to wait until you have a full blown outbreak.

Not everyone has a bad first outbreak. It depends. So making an earlier appointment isn't so critical in that regard, but rather for testing purposes. If you want to test for herpes, the best option is a swab of the bumps while they are still recent. Older bumps and those that have already started to heal are more likely to test negative, so the swab test loses relevance over time. The blood tests for herpes are not as good, but if necessary, the IgG antibody test can be done -- but at 3 months post-exposure, so even more waiting required!
