Genital herpes??

I had protected intercourse him on top while he was having an outbreak twice . I only saw the sores afterwards. Small group of Blisters on his shaft and a 2 bumps near the head of the penis. I had just shaven down there. From what I could see because after I got a good look he said I’m not a doctor to be honest I’m not sure if it was herpes. But he had a condom in during the act. My question is would I be safe from transmission since it was protected? 4 days later I had to visit urgent care had a mild fever flu like illness body aches sore throat. The doctor said sore throat was due to all the lymph node enlargement. About 6 days after that I was out in the sun at bbq when I got home I realized I had a lump on my bikini line painful to touch eventually it popped yellow pus and blood and is mostly healed. Burning urination no other bumps I see and mild pelvic cramping. Does the timeline fit? I’m very sensitive to symptoms in my body I’m not sure if the time line matches when would one first get a break out etc. thank you!

No, even with a condom there is still a risk of transmitting herpes. Your risk is even higher if he had an outbreak at the time of intercourse - it is as simple as skin-to-skin contact. It can lie dormant in your body also. If you do experience symptoms, like open wounds or blisters please go to the doctor.

Even with a condom it is still very possible to to contract herpes since it is skin to skin contact with the effected area. Ur flu like symptoms sound like my first ever outbreak. I would get checked for herpes. If u have any lesions have them swan them Bc it does take I think 12-16 weeks for in to be in ur blood.

I would agree with Kasey and Ashley. Using a condom only reduces the Herpes transmission rate by 30% so its best to avoid sex altogether during an outbreak. I have genital HSV2 which I caught despite using condoms.

Having said all that the lump on your bikini line doesn't sound like Herpes, so fingers crossed.

Herpes is highly contagious but only during the first 2-3 days of an outbreak. After that although the blisters are still visible for a week or so there's usually no virus around. So you may get away with out getting infected in these circumstances.

My hsv test came back today hsv1hsv2 igg was for hsv 1 39.5 and hsv 2 1.29 which is low could it be from my exposure 3.5 weeks ago? Doctor is ordering igm test as well

Ig M test is the best.

Be prepared to the worst scinario which is herpes positive.

It is unacceptable to have sex during outbreak. The risk of transmission is still present if there is no outbreak and with condom. Hope you are lucky enough and your results will be negative.

I don’t know if he has hsv 2 when I asked him about the outbreak he said it’s nothing I asked if he was going to the doctor he responded I’m donating blood I’ll be fine. I had a full work up and cut off contact at that point we have a son together but he’s always come and gone. And he’s the only man I’ve been with I’m 35 he’s 50.

Person with herpes can still donate blood!

Wait for IgM and you will know the whole truth.

      Good luck

Still waiting on igm. My doctor did another igg test as well. First igg test was hsv 1 39.5 and hsv 2 1.29. At 3.5 weeks. At 1 month hsv 1 was 42.5 and hsv 2 1.13 could low numbers indicate new infection by itself? I had long exposure to hsv 1 so the antibodies would be higher right? Or is the hsv 2 possibly a false positive what would cause the number to go down but the hsv 1 stay high? I’ve never had cold sores?
