Genital Herpes Blood Test Accuracy?

Posted , 3 users are following.

A partner I was with informed me they had genital herpes after sleeping with them.

I experienced some symptoms but couldn't get tested as I was out the country at the time and when I got back and symptoms had cleared up. This included pain while urinating and a rash. Over the course of the past 3 months since the first symptoms I've done 4 'at home' antibody tests, all of which have been negative at 6, 8, 10, and 12 weeks.

How accurate are these tests? is there any other way to get tested without showing symptoms?

If I am negative, what else could the symptoms of been? I have also done an STI test and I was negative on that as well, to eliminate chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis and HIV.

It's really bothering me and making me paranoid

Not familiar with home tests, but there are blood (antibody) tests. Any Lab Test Now does it for about $49.

    70% for hsv-1 and 92% for hsv-2 igg accuracy after 3 months

the westernblot is the gold standard if you want to look up western blot instead of igg
