    samira,

first off I am so sorry this is happening to you. I’m still into my first outbreak and it’s been almost 3 weeks. my advice is to visit a Planned Parenthood or a facility that specializes in STI's.. they can give you some lidocaine cream to help with the pain and you probably need some pain medication. I also have been using some over-the-counter lysine and coconut oil. i’m at the point in my break out that all the sores are healed and gone but I just constantly itch and hurt down there. good luck i hope you feel better soon.

    Hey,

    Sorry you feeling like this!

How much more of your antivirals have you got left to take? You may need to get your doctor to increase you prescription. In particularly bad first outbreak you maybe need 10-14days worth till it subsides.

Lots of things you can also do to help.

    • getting enough sleep, try not to stress (hard I know) by doing you like and just taking some time for yourself.

-increasing lysine intake and decreasing arginine.

    • no trauma to the area. Don't shave or do any kind of hair removal while the outbreak is there. No sex or anything that causes friction.

    • try to decrease any caffeine, alcohol or high sugar foods while the sores are still present.

Your going to want to dry the sores up!

Keeping them clean and dry is important . So salt baths with lavender or tea tree as an additive can really help! When drying don't rub just dab gently. You can also use the hairdryer on a cold setting! This offers pain relief also!

I found using a small bit of coconut oil with tea tree helped to dry them up!

Most times genital herpes won't scab over. They'll just shrink up and go! Your skin may be a little discoloured after but you won't have scarring. It does get easier 😃 feel free to message me if you've any questions.

reading this thread, i thought you might be able to help me as well.. i am 17 days into my first outbreak.. i have taken 10 days of valtrex and now acyclovir twice a day. i also was taking 3000mg of lysine and elderberry supplement. my 2 sores were located between my vagina and anus. my sores have been gone for a few days but my whole vagina hurts primairily by clit and urethra, itches and in general is painful. when does this go away? i even have pain when bending over.. is this part of the outbreak? im so frustrated.

Sometimes I find I get the odd nerve pain or itch which isn't an outbreak. I also found my over thinking made me feel there was something wrong!

Also by taking the antivirals it's unlikely it is an outbreak.

Have you been back to a doctor?

not since my initial diagnosis.. i halfway feel like a bomb went off in my vagina.. since august 19th i have taken 10 days if valtrex, 2 rounds of diflucan , and a week of flagyl.. i have went thru a tube and a half of lidocaine cream..

ps.. i tested negative gor both a yeast ir bacterial infection.. treatment was precautionary..

I would suggest going back! You may need a smear done and get them to have a look.

My first outbreak was at the end of June. It was the worst thing I think I have ever had to experience. The ten-day acyclovir helped a lot. All said and done, I didn’t see a full clear up for about 4 to 5 weeks. I immediately started acyclovir twice a day for suppression since I read that you can have a lot more outbreaks within the first couple months to year. I started it when the 10 day supply was done. Something that helped me was soaking in lavender bath salts in a warm bath nightly. I recommend seeing a doctor for suppression if you want to minimize your breakouts, and buy Lysine over the counter. I haven't had another break out even though I get tingling time to time. Hope you get past this quickly!

ironically my ex had herpes for 12 years we was together 2 years I never caught herpes off him .

few years later 2013 I went on holiday and was ill with BPD I slept with a guy and when I got home I had this mark on my bikini line the mark was at the top of my leg but in my bikini line it stung like hell .

I knew but I still went the gum clinic confirmed hpv2

    I couldn't even cry over it .

I had a few outbreaks that year but 6 years on I may get 1 or 2 max flares up but I only ever get 1 blister in one place.

usually between my bum and tunnel or bikini line .

I still talk to my ex who's had it years decades he said creams tablets are a waste time so I don't bother .

the worst is the hot rod sharp pains before the outbreak I usually get these pains in my boobs or between my legs my bum

my ex use to get it also so dont know if you guys get the same pains .

they do hurt and I've been unable to sit or lye down but after 5 days it stops I'm just careful not to shave or irritate it in any way no soap helps in your bath.

I wouldn't use anything but water..

    hope its getting better x
