So to start off I'm 99% sure I have genital herpes. I haven't gone to the doctors to get it confirmed because as I was finding the bumps another important issue happened with my body that had to come first. I have an appointment to find out in 4 days.

How long does a first outbreak last? I have had these bumps 2.5 months and not gone away. I first thought they were from my razor since I shaved for the first time in a long time but they just wouldn't go away. They don't hurt at all. I have none on inside my vagina on my vag lips clit or butt. So anotrger reason I didn't think it was herpes. I have no other symptoms but the bumps.

Another thing. I know already I have the herpes that cause cold sores. These bumps started popping up after I let my partner at the time (and of 6 months) give me oral which I've never had. Now all of the sudden I have these bumps. So if I get tested and I come back positive for type one will they know if it's genital or if it's the normal one? I'm trying to have a little hope I don't have it. But I just know I do sad

A first outbreak lasts only 3 weeks on average and the lesions are usually sore to the touch. It thus doesn't sound like herpes, especially if you have observed no change in their appearance this whole time.

If you already have the cold sore virus, then you should be immune from getting the virus elsewhere. A positive blood test cannot tell you infection site. Only a swab test can, provided the lesions are not too old or already healing (accuracy diminishes over time).

Thank you for your input. I am trying to get a picture uploaded so that everyone can see better of how they look. Some are in clusters and clear/whitish. And some are red. I just keep telling myself that's what it is just to prepare myself. I'll get a blood test this Friday. But it would be better to get a swab test?

If you fear herpes, there is no harm in requesting both the blood and swab test. Just make sure that the blood test is IgG, not IgM. However, you say you have had these bumps for 2.5 months and they have not really changed in that time, correct? If so, it really does not sound like it could be herpes. Appearance-wise, some looks like a rash of sorts, but it's really hard to say for sure.

They've never went away all this time. New ones pop up more and more everyday. And some go away. At first I wasn't sure but now there spreading to my thigh which I know is a thing. They don't feel anything like how a cold sore does on your lip but looks similar I tried uploading a picture in the replies let me know it the link works.

I saw the photo before my last comment, but prefer to assess the progression of these bumps/spots, because it really doesn't sound like herpes. Too persistent and unchanging, now the spreading, etc. -- it's all very uncharacteristic.

I just got done with the doctor, and she swears it's not herpes. But I still think it is. She told me not to worry but I asked for a swab test anyways just to be 100%.

It honestly doesn't sound like herpes and now you have a doctor who says it doesn't even look like herpes in person, so you should take comfort in that. But good to get out swabbed if your are still doubtful. Just make sure you accept the negative results that you're likely to get back. 👍

But good to get *it swabbed if *you are still doubtful. Annoying autocorrect!
