Genital Warts Question

I had genital warts about 4 years ago, it took them about 6 months to clear up on their own. I haven't had any more since but was wondering if it was still possible for me to pass them on to someone?

In most cases warts clear on their own and the body eliminates the infection, although doctors aren't 100% sure if the virus gets completely eliminated or if it goes dormant, studies show that 80% of people clear the infection within 8 months and that it's undetectable, so you probably wouldn't spread it, reality is that at the moment in the US alone 45% of men have an active HPV infection, 90% of them clear it without problems to a point where the infection can't be detected (either cleared or dormant..that's still uncertain), just to be on the safe side you should ask your partner if she received the gardasil vaccine or advise her to take it, as a man...anybody could have it (especially a dangerous strain that doesn't cause warts but causes cancer) and spread it unknowingly, so if you care about her you should advise her to get the vaccine, personally I'm waiting for the new hpv001 vaccine that just started human trials in the UK and belgium, this new vaccine not only prevents but should clear even persistent strains of hpv from the body (unlike gardasil that only prevents but doesn't cure), hopefully we should have this on the market by 2025 and I'm definitely getting it..because you can never know if you have a dangerous strain that doesn't cause warts, especially the oral ones that can cause cancer.
