I have been diagnoised with Geographic tongue 2 months back. The patches geal and I get new ulcers which spread and finally join together. The proceas seems to be never ending for now. I am on vitamin b12 as it was low. Can soneone pkease suggest if getting new patches with white borders are normal. I am consulting ENT so far and he mentioned that there is no need to worry and he does not have any treatment for this. He mentioned that this would go away on its own.

    Hi Pankaj,

I had this when i was 18 -21 years old. It will eventually go away and then flair up once in a while. I got great relief from an over the counter product called Gly-Oxide. It is an antiseptic oral cleanser that as i understand it pulls oxygen out of the skin and provides relief from the pain and curtails the problem. You can use it 4 times daily and I found it to be the only solution that gave me relief. It can be purchased in stores in the USA , the phone number on my bottle is 1-866-255-5202, perhaps they can help you find a retail outlet nearby..

Geographic tongue is very sensitive to acidic foods; tomato sauce, spices, and the like so eat a bland diet to be most comfortable during an outbreak.  Hope this helps you find some relief.

    Hi Pankaj-

No need to worry about this just get that Gly-Oxide product and use it in conjuction with a bland but nutritious diet.  I attribute me getting to eating a bad diet while away at school. If this product is available in your country perhaps you can get it on Amazon or the like.  Good luck!
