Hi just wondering does anyone suffer awful mouth symptoms

White tongue and yellow back of tongue

I was diagnosed with GERD 2 years ago .

Been on Esomeprazole since.

So i am not sure if it from the Gerd or the PPI.

Bad taste in mouth also but a persistent yellow and white tongue .

      Hi Gillian

      Thanks for the reply

I take 40mg daily for the last 2 years.

I am back with my gastro and i am hoping to have the anti reflux surgery.

Can i ask do you still get the coated tongue

Mine is white with yellow coating at the back.

With a sour taste in my mouth.

      Its horrible

So its either the acid or the ppis thats all i can think of.

some days its not so bad other days its worse

I have noticed that I have white on mu teeth in the morning. I think it is from the acid at night. I have had the Nissen operation that stopped the reflex but I still have "silent gerd." The surgeon repaired my hernia. I am very disappointed in the operation since I am back on Omerprsole, still have a cough, feel like there is a ball in the back of my throat and my nose is awful. So, be careful with having and operation. Like I said, the awful, nasty acid that came up before the operation is gone but the "Silent Gerd" is still alive and well. Also, I went through 3 tests before the operation to show how much acid I had in my stomach and show what my esophagus/throat looked like. The barium swallow wasn't bad but the other two were NOT FUN!
