hi all. im fairly new to this but have been suffering severe reflux symptoms for a few months now. doctor put me on prilosec 2x a day which helps a lot but not completely. today i went back and he added in prescription zantac tho i have not started that yet... hoping it works. im here today because i have a new symptom that was started tonight along with all of my other reflux symptoms, im now having pains in my upper to middle back area. has anyone experienced this? ive never quite heard of back pain with reflux but its accompanied with all my other classic symptoms... i guess im just looking to see if anyone else has experienced this? been going on for a few hours but not getting any worse really

... just a similar pressure/gnawing feeling like i get in my stomach at times.

Hi yes i get awful upper back pain which my doctor assures me is caused by acid reflux. I have had acid problems for a few years and its a constant battle with symptoms. I get pain between shoulder blades and also around chest area (brief stabbing pains) . Had another ecg just today as i worry about heart trouble, it came back fine yet again. I tried a ppi but after getting visual disturbance i stopped and went onto Ranitadine although at prescription dose it can make me feel sick. I cut it down and after a few month weaned myself off. I was ok for a couple of month then felt some reflux which i tried to control with Gaviscon. Unfortunatly just had a massive flare up with acid coming up throat which i believe started my back pain. Thanks for that info. That does sound extremely similar to my experience as well.
