Hi guys approx 6 weeks ago i ate breads and balsamics pretty late at night . As soon as i was finished i felt total indigestion well I think it was I have never experienced anything like it before . It lasted 4 days had the whole globus sensation in throat gassy burps. Taken a few panic attacks as I felt my throat was closing over.

Went to docs who said it sounded like osophegus spasms. Sent me away with one omeprazole a day and gaviscon. Next couple days was fine thought it was a once off so didn't take my medicine for a couple days and even drank that weekend. Bad idea ate something and again has the feeling of it being stuck, back to docs in a panic upped my tabs to 2 a day. Been so much better the past week. Eating porridge for brekky and soup for lunch but when it comes to dinner says Brown rice is good for gerd I feel it too is getting stuck on the way down too causing indigestion. Awaiting scope has anyone else had similar symptoms ... totally petrified it's something serious . Just turned 40 this year and have to say I have probably overdone the wine past 7 months ... partied most weekends ... any help would be much appreciated ...

Sorry you have to go through this. It's scary!

About your throat closing in, I think it might be a panic attack. Ask your doctor for an ultrasound of the abdominal area and see if you have any issues with your gallbladder. It's good that you're getting an endoscopy. Where did you feel the food stuck? In the meantime, stay away from alcohol, any acidic food, and try your best to relax.

For me, I feel food coming down but stay in my chest. I am 38 years old. These have been a really scary and nerve wreaking experience for me. On top of it, I have a chronic constipation too. I had always been healthy until now. I am not looking forward to getting old at all. I feel anxious everyday, and I am trying to stay calm by doing meditation.

    Hope you're feeling well soon.
