Don't we just know it.  That first shower after the operation, the first unsteady walk up the hospital corridor, stairs, getting into a car, going outside for a walk on your own, the first drive in your car, negotiating escalators when commuting to work, getting back to full time work - so many little victories.

    Good luck with your recovery.

Same here Jill . At 4 weeks now and really starting to feel better . Taking Ibuprofin in the am and a tramadol around 5:00 . I swept out my front entry way and cleaned out our bark that lines the walkway . We have a tree that flowers in that enclosed walkway and it sheds . Leaves everywhere . It looks good . It's so. Ice not to hurt so much it's painful with each step .My muscles are still weak but that will come .Im glad you are doing well . Thank God for the wonderful brains and science to be able to have these procedures .

Sounds like you are doing well,I think I am comparing min to when I had my other hip done 12 months ago,I was driving at 5 weeks,I had my other one done at a dif fervent hospital with a different surgeon. I am having physio on Thursday so will see what they say. I am still quiet weak on my right side. I see the surgeon in 3 hope all goes well for you. So Bassett I too am not taking much medications . I started with my cane yesterday and the PT said it was a little early but I have to go back to work at 8 weeks so I need to get it down ,need to practice . My knee hurt yesterday and she said I was turning my foot in . That's why the practice is so important . It sounds like you are doing really well .

Hi, thank you for your thoughts as a 67year old female I was very active untill a few years ago walking, driving etc. For the last year I was restricted almost totally to the house as the pain and walking bent over was horrible. so any improvement is a blessing. i want to get back to using our caravan and taking a few trips, walking our dogs etc

I've had no physio or contact with the hospital since i left after 31/2 days from opp

just made my own choices on what i can do
