Getting better ..

Well I have never had such a bad 6 7 months. I was sat at home one night in July. And a massive panic attack from out of no wear and ever since been a anxious mess.. I have never been like this before so it at times has been very scary and intense. I was on citalopram for 20 weeks gave it a right good go. I think it helped a tad but nothing great. And just 3 weeks ago I switched from citalopram to setraline and I feel so much better than citrelpram ever did. And it's only been 3 weeks. Maby citalopram just was not for me. Now I know on setraline their will still be bad days. I mean I'm not 100 percent better. Maby 50 but that's still 50 percent better than I was.. And hopefully a few more months I will be 100 percent. But I'm more positive about things 😃 and if this can make just one person feel positive that would make me very happy 😃

Glad to hear you are feeling better Ryan I had a panic attack last August never had one (and still dont believe it was a panic attack) but went hospital and had checks aswell as numerous tests from my doctor all fine so about October I begrudgingky started sertraline 50mg and have ploughed through the ups and downs but had it increased on new years eve to 100mg so am now going through some minor ups and downs. Thankyou for posting far to often we read negative comments

What MG sertraline you on? Agree with that I just don't feel myself even now I don't feel myself and still having physical pains around chest, back etc and I keep on bothering my doctor but they pretty much laugh at me and tell me to let em do their job instead of googling every little thing

I'm on 50mg. I hear you mate exactly the same. But the past few days I feel like I'm getting much better.. like my normal self. I have never suffered from anxity at all. So it's been really scary at times..

Good for you and all others who are feeling better. It’s a very slow acting drug, and sometimes you feel worse before better - which I learned from research and also my daughter's experience. But when it works it is a godsend. It worked so slowly for my daughter (6 weeks to see some small improvements and 3 months to feel almost 100%) that I think she doesn’t even realize it was the drug that was helping her. I think she actually thinks that she just came out of her depression on her own, but I am certain it was from the sertraline. therapy is helping her too. And my poor baby was in a really dark hole - suicidal depression. To see her happy and working and spending time with friends is a miracle. As far as I’m concerned it’s all because of this medication . always remember you are not alone. People on this forum are here for you and you WILL recover . xo

Ryan I think they must have some sort of automatic technology that picks up on certain words - and I may have triggered that when explaining that my daughter was...the "s" word. Sorry if that triggered their response. Not sure why they addressed it to you since that word was in MY reply but again, I think it's some sort of robotic technology that picks out certain words and then automatically sends that response and since you started the thread it got sent to you.

I did have side effects but not as bad as what I had on citalopram tho. Don't be worried about the changing. Sometimes things just ain't right. And 14 weeks is a long time. I was on them 20 weeks and had no success
