Getting high temperatures again and again

My son turned 6 week a go. Around 9 months before we noticed he get unwell and then temperature above 102F and would be unwell for atleast week or so, and we as parents thought of this as children catch ilness from school with cough, blocked nose. He was getting unwell with temperature atleast once or twice a month. took him to GP and as usual asked us to give calpol. we also gave him Nurofen for Children.

Since just over a month he started getting temperature atleast twice a day and everyday and temperature would rise to 104F. during this time we took him twice to GP and again bloody CALPOL. On 30 July due to high temp we took him to A&E in local hospital where he was admitted and they also noticed pikes of temp between 101F and 103.8F. Hospital took few of basic blood tests and treated him with stongest anti-biotic thru cannula for 4 days. he was fine on 4th day so hospital sent him  home but next evening he came up with temp again. took him back to hospital and was admitted again for 5 days and again took blood samples for further tests in depth. The bottom of this is all the blood results came -ve but the thing is even hospital noticed and recorded his temp and dont know what is causing it. My son is at home since last 9 days and is prescribed with 10 day course of Penicillin which he has almost completed it and has come up with temp again 102F right at this moments and thats why I am asking and trying to get help outside the hospital boundaries. We as parents are worried sick as he has lost weight too but not a lot. there is no cough or vomating but he does complain about pain in joints in knees and elbows. Is there anyone who can suggest what to do and what further tests we should ask hospital to do. I would appreciate any kind of help and suggestions. Thank you.  Aleem

Oh, Aleem! How horrible for you! Kids do constantley catch all sorts from school. But,  repeated fevers doesn't sound good. His body is fighting off some infection, but as yet, unidentified. Get your GP to refer you to a Pediatrician. They are more experienced with children's illness and should be able to identify the underlying cause of your son's fever.

Exercise and eating a healthy and balanced diet is the first medicine your body uses to heal itself. It would be advisable to seek the opinions of both medical and alternative practitioners and make your own informed choice as to how best heal your family!

Hello Aleem.  I am interested in the outcome of your 6 year old son.  My son of three years has had a similar problem although his blood test results certainly were not normal.

Did they find out what was wrong?
