getting in shape????

Cardio exercises that dont involve a bike or running?? having a hard time losing some of this unwanted weight from sitting around for 4 months (trimalleolar fracture, 3 tears, 6" plate ) Also, im 24 and back walking fine again, i just wont be able to run again for about a year and biking swells up my ankle so i cant get a good workout out of it. I lift weights but i dont burn the calories i would if i was doing cardio. thanks for any help

    Swimming is an excellent way of keeping in shape while having issues with ankle/foot.

    The most effective way to lose weight and feel better is to change your diet. Exercise helps but it won't always do the job alone. Plus, few of us have the time or stamina to put in hours of physically demanding exercise.

    There are thousands of diets and books and products about them. But the single most helpful diet approach is simply to cut out most carbs, especially empty calories like sugar and starches. Substitute for carb calories healthy fats (like butter, avocado, nuts-- and cut out unhealthy inflammatory fats like vegetable oils, margarine, etc).

    If interested, look into ketogenic diets and what they promise for healthy and trim bodies.
